Chapter three
Sophia and Peter
Page 16 and 17

The next morning Sophia and Peter are up early and start to make tea for mummy and daddy, who are still asleep in their tent.
Page 17
Sophia goes to fetch water for the kettle and Peter gets the matchbox to light the camping
stove.

In the matchbox the two bad tempered sisters are still waiting their turn.
‘GET RIGHT OUT OF THE WAY FATTY!’ Screams Lucinda at Lucretia.
”I am the ELDEST so I go FIRST!”
Page 19
‘No ME!” splutters Lucretia.
‘I am the most BEAUTIFUL, so I go FIRST!”
‘ME!ME!ME!’
Page 20 and 21

Peter takes out a matchstick and strikes the big head against the side of the matchbox and with a FUT and a stinking cloud of black smoke Lucinda goes straight away out!
Page 21
Peter sighs and takes another matchstick, and with a spluttering of nasty sparks Lucretia also goes straight away out!
‘AUH!’ cries Peter and sucks his burnt fingers.
Page 22 and 23

‘Stupid matches! Now the box is empty!’ moans Peter and throws the old matchbox onto the ground.
‘Now we can’t make tea for mummy and daddy!’ sighs Sophia. ‘What shall we do now?’
Peter picks up a glass jar from the table and pops it into his jacket pocket.
‘We’re going to look for insects in the forest.’
Sophia quickly grabs the empty matchbox from the ground, pops it into her jacket pocket and runs over the gravel path after Peter.

Chapter four following very soon…Hoofdstuk vier komt er snel aan…
The drawings for ‘Lucy Star’ are the original rough, mostly black and white, sketches that I drew a few years back for the three Lucky Lucifer Matches dummy books, scanned and coloured-in on the computer with Photoshop tools.
They are not the definite illustrations.
I chose to use this method for my stories, here on my weblog, to learn more about all the brushes, tools, paints and colouring palettes available in Photoshop, but at the same time to work on and to keep as close as possible to my original sketches.
I am really enjoying working on the scanned sketches and learning more about Photoshop on my computer.
No paper, paints, pencils, sharpeners or erasers in sight!
But most of all I’m loving working on all the original Lucky Lucifer sketches again, that have lain tucked away in a draw for far too long, breathing new life and extra colour into all the dear old drawings!
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I am enjoying creating them!

Love Big Sis. XXX
Thanks Big Sis!
Luckily my Big Sis, nor my Little Sis or Littler Sis, are like Lucinda and Lucretia!
….. and if you keep reading, Big Sis, all the chapters – and the two more Lucky Lucifer Matches books to follow – you’ll find out if Lucy eventually meets her bright young spark!

looks great Linda – am waiting with bated breath for next installment! The illustrations are great – hope some children are reading this!
Thanks Sharon! Next ‘Lucy Star’ chapter in production as we speak!

Lieve Linda!
Geweldig hè, om zo je oude illu’s nieuw leven in te blazen!!
EN om tegelijkertijd je talenten in Photoshop te stoppen.
I know the feeling exactly 🙂
Ben heel benieuwd hoe het verder gaat.

Bedankt Magda!
Ik heb geprobeerd je advies te volgen en de illustraties niet te druk te maken! Twee drukke spreads in Chapter one heb ik nu gesplits in vier illustraties! Ziet er inderdaad veel beter uit!
Bedankt voor je steun!
