Chapter six

Pages 32 and 33

Peter and dad are searching the forest for Sophia.
They search under bushes and giant ferns, behind enormous trees and fallen tree stumps and continually call Sophia’s name.
It’s not raining anymore but a thin, cold mist is hanging in the forest and they still haven’t found Sophia!
Page 33
All of a sudden in the distance they see a twinkling red light, that glows brighter and brighter.
Peter and dad quickly walk towards the glowing light.
Pages 34 and 35

Inside the hollow tree on a warm bed of leaves and moss, Sophia is lying fast asleep.
Dad carefully wakes Sophia up. Oh they are so glad that they have found Sophia safe and sound!
Sophia puts the matchbox inside her jacket pocket and hand in hand with her daddy and Peter they walk back to the tents, where mummy is anxiously waiting their return.

Chapter seven following very soon…Hoofdstuk zeven komt er snel aan…
The drawings for ‘Lucy Star’ are the original rough, mostly black and white, sketches that I drew a few years back for the three Lucky Lucifer Matches dummy books, scanned and coloured-in on the computer with Photoshop tools.
They are not the definite illustrations.
I chose to use this method for my stories, here on my weblog, to learn more about all the brushes, tools, paints and colouring palettes available in Photoshop, but at the same time to work on and to keep as close as possible to my original sketches.
I am really enjoying working on the scanned sketches and learning more about Photoshop on my computer.
No paper, paints, pencils, sharpeners or erasers in sight!
But most of all I’m loving working on all the original Lucky Lucifer sketches again, that have lain tucked away in a draw for far too long, breathing new life and extra colour into all the dear old drawings!
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I am enjoying creating them!

A comment from grey and cold London:
Very nice!!
But…..waiting for the Bretagne rock drawings and stories!
Hi Comment from grey and cold London!
After I’ve finished writing and illustrating Lucy Star follows Bright Sparks and then The Lucky Lucifer stories!
But hopefully I can begin the Bretagne rock drawings – or Rose and the Island of Rocks, which is the working title – sometime in 2015!
From,
Grey and cold Amsterdam!
Hi dear Linda,
I love to see you experimenting with Photoshop! Continue the good work, don’t be afraid to be even bolder 🙂
Love, Magda
Aaah thanks Magda! XXXX
I will have to be very bold as you advise, Magda, in the last two chapters of the Lucy Star story, as all sorts of things are about to happen in the old Starlight matchbox!
Including the first appearance of the incredible Lucky Lucifer matches family, magical reappearing acts and the first sparks of a fiery romance!
Can’t wait to get working on the concluding chapters, so keep watching this (matchbox) space!
